Retired Middle School Teacher

Retired licensed teacher with experience in middle school science, art, social studies, and reading. Comfortable with small groups and one-on-one support in reading, math, writing, music, and organization.

Bilingual Special Education Teacher

Retired special education teacher with experience in inclusion and IEP meetings. Bilingual and experienced as an academic evaluator. Prefers one-on-one work.

Early Childhood Volunteer

Volunteer interested in preschool and kindergarten support. Loves music, sharing picture books, and cooking.

Psychotherapist & Student Support

Psychotherapist with experience working with students with special needs. Active in lunch/recess buddy programs, open to doing more classroom support.

Special Education Specialist

Retired special education teacher skilled in assistive technology.

 

Reading & Literacy Tutor

Volunteer who enjoys reading aloud and has tutored English Language Learners in first grade. Interested in math and literacy tutoring.

Flexible New Volunteer

Flexible volunteer available for new opportunities; interests still being determined.

Kindergarten Classroom Helper

Volunteer available weekly or biweekly, interested in supporting kindergarten classrooms.

 

One-on-One Tutor

Volunteer who prefers one-on-one work with students, but open to other roles.

 

Social Worker & Movement Teacher

Retired clinical social worker and teacher, with experience teaching movement/dance to elementary students and working with students with intellectual disabilities.

Elementary Reading & Writing Teacher

Former elementary reading and writing teacher. Comfortable helping with small groups or individual students in the classroom.

Community Volunteer & Musician

Retired store manager and piano accompanist, neighbor to Jackson Street School. Available a couple of hours per week to support almost any activity.

Music & Song Leader

Volunteer who enjoys music and has led singing with children. Plays guitar and banjo. Prefers working with younger students. (Unavailable Jan–Mar)

Retired Physician

Retired physician, interested in helping younger students with science and math. Can also support homework, test prep, and study skills.

Professor of Geography & Sustainability

Retired professor with expertise in geography, environment, sustainability, and Spanish/French. Open to working with students of all ages.

Volunteer open  for different positions 

Psychologist & Early Childhood Specialist

Psychologist trained in early childhood development, interested in reading, learning activities, and developmental support. Enjoys music with children

Law & Writing Support

Volunteer with law and general studies background. Interested in supporting reading and writing.

 

Elementary Library & Reading Volunteer

Volunteer who enjoys one-on-one tutoring and small group work. Interested in reading, libraries, and working with elementary students through grade 5.

Retired professor of Italian language and literature. Fluent in Italian and French, some Spanish. Interested in workshops or group volunteer projects, not a regular schedule.

University Professor (Languages & Media)

University professor specializing in language and writing (English, Spanish, German, French). Background in film, media, journalism, and history.
